The Franchise System

The Big Cheese provides franchisees with direct, hands-on, comprehensive support thereby providing the resources necessary to serve our delicious and unique menu to the consumer, while thriving under a growth business model.

Our extensive restaurant operation experience has created a leading class foundation for building a successful day-to-day operating system, and a strong growth plan for your franchise.

The Federal Trade Commission regulates what The Big Cheese is allowed to disclose to potential franchisees. As you proceed through the process of purchasing The Big Cheese business, you will receive the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) that details more about the business opportunity and your expected startup expenses as well as some financial information related to our restaurant.

The estimated initial investments to establish The Big Cheese franchise is from $220,200.00 to $543,000.00. This includes a franchise fee of $30,000.00, as well as the restaurant furnishings, equipment, location build-out, inventory, point-of-sale system, grand opening marketing, three month’s rent, permits, and of course estimated working capital to open your business.

The Big Cheese does not offer any direct financing but we can recommend some third party financing options for you.

In addition, we have arrangements with equipment leasing companies with options available in most cases to individuals with good credit.

If you have a retirement fund we can also recommend some great programs that allow you to borrow against your retirement fund without paying penalties or taxes.

  • Minimum of $150,000 liquid assets with good credit.
  • Knowledge of the trade area where the store will be located.
  • Restaurant experience or a designated manager with restaurant experience.

The Big Cheese provides an extensive training and support program to help you every step of the way.

It all starts with three weeks of training at our corporate head-quarters in Calgary, Alberta Canada for your general manager and two others.

This initial training occurs 45 – 60 days prior to your restaurant grand-opening, and is designed to teach your key management staff what they need to run your restaurant.

Plus, once your store opens we also provide a trainer to assist you at your location for the first seven days. Training continues with your personal Franchise Business Advisor who works with you step-by-step on an ongoing basis.
